She had already called Venus her soul planet. That was lived naming, in English, after years of looking. A different civilization also used a word we translate as soul for a ranked light. We are going there now so those two uses do not get mistaken for each other.
The fun of this lore is that the jobs move. In some Western lists the Sun is always one role. Jaimini’s cara kārakas, movable significators, refuse that. Imagine seven walkers on a circular road cut into twelve rooms, each room 30 steps wide. The walker who has gone farthest into whatever room they are standing in, even if it is not a famous room, is named king of this life: Ātmakāraka, ātman plus kāraka, self-significator. Second place is Amatyakaraka. Amatya means minister. If the first is the king, the second has to get the king’s work done in the world: livelihood, counsel, how intent becomes deed. The cabinet changes from birth to birth. That is why people who love this system love it. The sky does not print the same government for everyone.
Jaimini names the second-highest degree Amatyakaraka. Amatya means minister or counsellor. If Ātmakāraka is the king, the minister carries that work into the world: livelihood, counsel, how the soul’s intent gets done. Rank is still by degree inside the sign. The method does not say a planet employs a person. It names a rank on one sheet.
The Book already said: her soul planet · Venus. His soul planet · Mars. On his public print, the same method that names Mars as the soul significator names Venus as its minister. The rhyme is to be held.
Minister here is amatya, a Jyotiṣa office. It is not Ninšubur, Inana’s sukkal in the Sumerian composition. Two uses of minister. Two worlds.
On the Scribe’s sidereal sheet, Venus and Mars both sit in Viśākhā. The name means the forked one, two branches. The mansion is older in this culture than a sun-sign. The moon’s road is camped in twenty-seven nakshatras. Viśākhā runs from 20° Libra to 3°20′ Scorpio. Its gods are Indra and Agni together: the storm-king of the sky, and the fire that carries offerings up. Two powers, one fork. Lightning and the hearth. That is the lore. On this sheet the two lights that this house and Mars’s house will not put down are camping in the same branched field. A sentence, not a table. Tropical working nativity remains Venus Scorpio 21°55′, Mars Scorpio 14°39′, Ascendant Scorpio 4°20′.
Not that Vedic astrology prove a love story. Whether a life that kept returning to one light can be named without stealing that world, and without stealing another person’s inner life. Jaimini gives an office: the planet that holds the soul’s significator in this chart. The Book gives another: the world the looking will not put down. On this sidereal calculation, both names land on Venus. The lived phrase was already there. The rhyme is to be held, not collapsed. Proof would be a smaller thing than the looking.
A calculator is not a birth certificate. Rank can move if the birth time or ayanamsa moves. This house does not reprint the natal table. The working nativity remains geocentric tropical: Venus Scorpio 21°55′, Ascendant Scorpio 4°20′. Changing zodiac after seeing the result is a selection effect.
